Deep Rim
Deep Rim Banjo
This model has a chunky ⅜ rolled brass tone ring paired with an extra deep 3.75” rim.
I first came across this style of rim while visiting Greg Galbreath.
I originally started using it for tenor banjos which I think works really well and it's more recently become one of my favourite for five strings as well.
The rolled brass tone ring gives a strong direct tone and the deeper rim adds an extra depth and presence to the sound.
