Based in south Shropshire, I am usually to be found making and repairing banjos, lap style guitars, standard guitars and other stringed instruments.
My work supplies shops in the UK as well as building custom instruments for musicians, both amateur and professional.
All my instruments are hand-made and the majority of the work is done using traditional hand tools and methods.
The majority of my work is building custom banjos, Weissenborns, Resophonic and various other types of lapstyle guitars as well as conventional steel string guitars.
I have a particular interest in Hawaiian guitars, having researched and written on their history and development as part of my BSc at London Metropolitan, where I spent three years training as a Luthier under Godefroy Maruejouls (MJS Guitars), Norman Myall and Nicholas Blishen gaining a first class degree with honours in 2011.
When not making instruments I spend a lot of time playing them, especially the banjo, lap style guitars and to a lesser extent guitar and electric bass.
In addition to making custom instruments, the workshop is always open to repairs and set-ups, just give me a call or email me to get a quote.
Thanks for visiting my site and if you need any more information, please contact the workshop.
